The DSM-501 is an excellent uR (Micro-R) meter designed for measuring low level backgrounds and finding the source of any elevated readings. It houses an internal 1″ x 1″ plastic scintillator detector that produces more sensitivity than most GM type detectors.
This microprocessor driven instrument displays its measurement on a digital LCD employing large size character readouts that make the measurement easy to read and understand as compared to traditional analog type meter faces. This instrument displays its measurement on a traditional analog meter driven by modern digital microprocessor electronics and is accompanied with an audio output of the countrate.
Users can easily switch between countrate (CPM) and Doserate (mR/hr) modes to perform the desired measurement type. The timed count function acquires counts over longer periods of time to obtain more accurate measurements. Alarms can be set to forewarn the user anytime radiation levels exceed preset values.
The enclosure is sturdy metal construction for long-lasting, industrial use applications. The controls are all clearly indicated on the front panel to facilitate ease of use.
